Worksheet + Guide
By: Janelle Ault, LMFT

I've heard many teens say: "If one more person asks me where I'm going to college or what I'm choosing as my major, I'm going to scream."

I get it.  The decision feels HUGE.  It can feel overwhelming.  Many teens describe a sense of panic as they approach the decision deadline.

But what if it doesn't have to be that way?  What if we can think about it in a different way?

Framing the decision as "right or wrong" majorly increases the stakes, and therefore the threat level.  All of a sudden, we are making the decision from a fight or flight stance: one path leads to a blissful life and the other path leads to doom and gloom.

When we understand that we are choosing between two (or more) RIGHT decisions, we find ourselves in a (very needed) state of calm.  We begin to trust ourselves and instincts.  We identify the decision that is MORE RIGHT for us, knowing that we can discern our hopes for our college experience and make a decision that is in alignment.

In this WORKSHEET, I'll give you a tool that will help to discern these hopes and priorities.
